Pleasing Pairs; My Top Etsy Favorites of the Moment

Seeing as how it's practically impossible to get your treasury posted to the front page of Etsy, I decided to take matters into my own hands and post my so-obviously-would-be-front-page-etsy-treasury on the front page of my blog instead! Chia Fingers!

These rings are called "Growing Jewlery" and were created by Icelandic designer Hafsteinn Juliusson.

The softness of the moss really balances out the edgy design of the ring; a perfect yin and yang. I think they are really neat and innovative and I love the idea of wearing a living plant. It's like taking a fresh breath of air with you everywhere you go... in more ways than one! Found here.

Future Flatware

Not to be confused with "futuristic flatware;" this set was actually designed in the 50's. By future flatware, I mean MY future flatware for my future table in my future house, in my future life. In the future.

Sleek and sexy can always be expected by Dansk, even in something as simple as flatware. I found this set of teak and stainless steel flatware here, but watch out, they're spendy.

Girl Crush: Clemence Poesy

Every once in a while a girl comes along who is just so cute, and so stylish, and so talented, I can't NOT have a tiny little girl crush on her! That girl for me right now is Clemence Poesy. It's not so much that I want to date her, or, like, hold hands or whatever... no, no, no... It's more like... I just want to be her.

It all started when she played Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter:

How many girls in this world could pull off a hat like that? In fact, she seems to be born to wear hats...

And pretty dresses...

And scarves, and jackets, and those Balenciaga boots that were so ubiquitous last year, and skinny jeans, and leggings, and mini skirts, and....

....and whew! Take a breath, Desiree! Am I gushing? Well, I'm sorry. I just don't see a day in my future where I can pull off the stripes and plaid look like this:

Oh, Clemence, how can you look so cool, cute, sexy, sophisticated, and pretty all at once? You know, I think the real kicker is that she actually looks like she'd be really sweet in person. Plain and simple, she just looks... Nice.

For the Kiddies

One thing that I always find and can never resist buying when I am out shopping for vintage is children's clothing. Now this would be just fine and dandy if I had any children of my own to dress, but I don't! The clothes have been piling up with nowhere to go. I decided to make a new Etsy shop so that I can offer these little gems to people who do have children with not enough time on their hands to go out hunting for vintage clothing for them. Here are a few samples:

It is surprising to me that at almost 29 years of age, I still don't know very many people with kids, but maybe that is just city life. In any case, I would love it if you can pass the word on for me! :) The shop is called Little Lamb Vintage and you can find it here.

Estate Sale Season Hath Cometh

This year one of my New Year's resolutions was to step up my game in the world of thrifting. Try out new resources. Seek higher quality vintage. One resource that I have never really explored in depth is estate sales. I've been to a smattering of them over the years, only to feel downright intimidated by the fierce, or, shall I say, psychotically fierce competition. I know I've got a thing or two to learn about the game that is Estate Saling, but I think I'm ready to push up my sleeves and go for the glory. I went to a few different estate sales this weekend and this is what I found:

Not my best estate sale finds ever, but I do LOVE that casserole. I think I like it best without it's metal carrier, though. I swoon over those sweet lace gloves... they will kind of go with most of my wardrobe since I've been wearing so much black this last year (what can i say? it's slimming). The first set of mugs are 70's Japanese, the second are 60's "Smug Mugs." I'm not sure about that necklace but I'm guessing it's 70's Sarah Coventry.

I plan on heading out into the field again next weekend... maybe I'll bring my camera this time and snap some action shots!

Beach Haus

Peace out, suckas! The boyf and I are off to a sweet beach house in Neskowin, Oregon for the weekend. I expect it will be a lot like this:
