This is Brian. He is one of my best friends because of where he is standing in this photo. Those mountains he is flipping off are the Grand Tetons in Grand Teton National Park. In the summer of 2004 we both decided to leave Portland life behind for an entire summer. We got jobs working as waiters for Grand Teton Lodge Company. Our restaurant and dorms were about an hour and a half outside of Jackson, WY. The next closest stop was Yellowstone. We spent the summer drinking every single night with our fellow employees and climbing into the mountains as much as possible. Brian and I became really close that summer. I hope he'll be one of my best friends forever. This is the shortest version possible of the craziest summer of my life.

A red ant bit my toe at a hotspring near Yellowstone about a week before this photo was taken causing me to drop my camera. For the rest of the summer all the photos I took came out all hazy. I was pissed about it at the time, but now I kind of like the haze... it matches my memories.

I tag LittleGrayPixel, my new bloggy friend! :)

Things not included in the summary:

1) I moved back from New York like 3 days before you guys left, thereby separating us for aanother 4 months! Not fair!
2) Getting lost, BY YOURSELF, on the mountain.
3) Break Up Summer 2004 Holy Jeez.
4) Brian lighting his farts in your dorm room all summer long.
6) Those amazing mukluks you bought, and me thinking you were SO FANCY for buying a $150 pair of jeans in Jackson.
5) Plus, like you said, SO much more...sigh, memories. We were so young. Read: Brian looks like a total weenie in that shot.

6) The restaurant was called The Chuck Wagon. Doesn't get much better than that!
